A bit about Jason.....

Jason Tudor is a freelance writer based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. For those of you who don’t know where that is, the X-Men films were shot there. So it must be cool.

Jason’s barely more than thirty years have found him pursuing all manner of activities, not all of them as dignified as writing. He has sold roses on the side of the road to guys in girl trouble, coached and refereed little brats on the football field, parked cars for rich people at fancy hotels and clubs, lived in a trailer on the beach in San Diego much like Mel Gibson’s nutcase character in Lethal Weapon, deep-fried chicken fingers at Bonanza restaurant, assistant-managed a video store/coffee shop/internet café, played a serial killer in his short film How to Make a Killing in Hollywood, made a bevy of tackles playing fullback in rugby and taken a lot of sacks as a quarterback in football, and was most recently seen singing along to "Kiss on My List" at a recent Hall and Oates concert.

Today, Jason is somewhere in the earlier half of obtaining a graduate degree or two in the vain hopes of someday becoming one of those hip professors you find "hanging out" at the school pub after class. Film – as well as anything having to do with popular culture and its ramifications on the masses – is his area of expertise. How many careers pay you to sit there and talk about the absolute brilliance of There’s Something About Mary?

Oh, right… the writing. As a proud holder of an undergraduate degree in English, Jason has done a fair bit of the ol’ pen-to-paper. However, the passion began at a young age with some short stories that his grade six teacher found somewhat too "cinematic" and continued with an A+ in grade twelve Creative Writing class (an exceptionally powerful calling card in the writing community). In his twenties Jason wrote a feature length film script for the purpose of hopefully becoming a wildly successful director. When he found out that becoming a wildly successful film director actually involved work, he procrastinated his way to completely re-writing the script. It was something about dreams, apparently. How cliché.

In the last few years Jason’s writing has become more practical. He began writing a video review column entitled "Flick Pick" (no, he didn’t name it) for a community newspaper and now has over 350 reviews under his belt. He has also written for websites ranging from furnace sales to law firms. Speaking of law, Jason wrote an article for Asian Law Weekly about the need for law firms to establish an online presence. It was fascinating, believe me… much more dramatic than his script.

Of course, Jason’s finest work can be found here at Dateseeker assisting the romantically-challenged reach out to potential lovers worldwide. His punchy comedic style, laced as it is with frequent outbursts of grammatical gymnastics, is both readable and entertaining. This doesn’t mean he has a problem adjusting it to more serious efforts, however. After all, a twenty page paper on the possibilities for socialist agency within contemporary horror films isn’t exactly begging for the sarcastic touch.

Despite Jason’s clearly encyclopedic knowledge of dating both real and virtual, he is currently single. He thus welcomes employment inquiries of either the romantic or professional variety.
